Mr. Karapet Babayan is The Honorary Consul of Armenia in Lithuania since February 2020. Born in Armenia, K. Babayan has lived in Lithuania for almost four decades.
Mr. Babayan has developed his long and rich career in the field of medicine as an oncologist surgeon. He is considered as one of the pioneers of laser surgery in Lithuania. Since then, more than 30 years of experience in oncology and laser surgery have been collected. As an active professional, K. Babayan founded the Lithuanian Society of Laser Medicine and was its president from 2002 to 2007. He also holds the position of the president of the Baltic Society of Laser Medicine and is a member of many international medical organizations.
Babajan has significant experience in creating and developing new businesses. In 2001, he founded the Clinic of Skin and Laser Surgery, while later, in 2005, Mr. Babajan established „Medicinos strategija” and “GK Klinika“. Both clinics have been operating successfully since then. The network of medical clinics was developed both in Lithuania and Belarus.
Mr. Babayan received his education in Lithuania in 1989, when he graduated from Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. Mr. Babayan is fluent in Armenian, Lithuanian, Russian, and English.
After becoming the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Lithuania, K. Babayan seeks to develop cooperation between both countries, promote cultural ties and improve the image of Armenia.
„I will work on ensuring an intensified representation of Armenia. One of my main focuses will be the promotion of trade and commercial ties as long as friendly relations between Armenian and Lithuania.“, said Mr. Babayan.
